“ Delicious desserts, everything is homemade here. Highly recommended and I can’t wait to comeback again. Very pleasant environment and good vibes . ”
“ I stopped by here, once I landed. The owners were amazing! I had the Freddo Espresso ( Iced Espresso) with oatmeal milk. It was one of the best Espresso I ever had. No sugar was needed. The atmosphere was welcoming and funky. This is definitely one of my places to frequent, while in New York. ”
“ From the moment I saw the ratings for this place, plus photos on google, i thought to myself “4.9 Stars? Theres NO WAY! & They have coffee that looks DECADENT!” Man it didn’t disappoint . Alongside Ana & Smitty’s friendly nature, they added quick & attentive service on top of all that? Its Just a simple 10 out of damn 10! My date & I shared a Meat Burek, which was AMAZING! (Forgot to take photos that’s how fast we ate it) Flavorful, it needed nothing more in my opinion, but as An American whom never had this food, we had to dive in & take all the recommendations given to us on how to enjoy it! So, the Yogurt, plus a drizzle of hot sauce? I was IN HEAVEN. My caramel Latte? THE BEST IN MY LIFE so far & I’ve tried alot of coffee . To finish it all off, the homemade Baklava for dessert? My mouth exploded with the sweet flavor of the flaky crust and delicious syrup However, In all seriousness, you dont find many kind people that you’re willing to share moments of your date, talking to. But Ana & Smitty had him & I almost feeling like we were Family by the time we left. I will continue to return here with & without him & recommend for everyone to come here and i came from the BRONX it says something. Gina Sent You ! ”
“ Every time I go here, it's been a very positive experience. 1) The interior is just beautiful. It's very clean, cool chairs, comfy sofas, a bar, tons of space, and they've even got a backroom for occasional live music. It's obvious a lot of care went into the design. 2) The coffee and food is great, as well as the desserts. I just finished eating delicious peppers stuffed with beef, and now I am enjoying a new favorite dessert that I'd never previously tried before. 3) My favorite part is how the workers treat me. They remember who I am, treat me well and have meaningful conversations. They are from a country I'd never heard of before, yet they feel like my friends already. I love going here and will continue to come here! ”
“ Me and my boyfriend decided to try this cafe 2 weeks ago, and we were not disappointed. The owners make you feel like home, they’re the sweetest. It’s such a cozy place. The coffee is the BEST. COFFEE. EVER. They have a variety of delicious HOMEMADE desserts everyday. Their burek (filled pastry with either beef, cheese or spinach) is to die for. I tried it for the first time here and it’s so yummy! *chef kiss* we love this place and would recommend everything they offer. My boyfriend lives in the area and has become a regular! ”
“ Cute coffee shop with delicious homemade pastries. You definitely need to come in and try their coffee and pastries. Staff is also very friendly and attentive. Tulumba (a deep fried dessert dipped in syrup) and their caramel macchiato are my to go to ”
“ Zara and Smitty treat you like family and put so much love into their coffee and food. A taste of Montenegro right here in Astoria! Apple Baklava !!! Even a great short term visit while you’re finishing laundry! ”
“ My wife and I stumbled onto this location one day when passing through Queens. She just wanted to grab a quick cup of coffee, but what we got was so much better than expected. We had a “flat white” which was amazing high-quality coffee. And a piece of homemade baklava. I have to say this was hands-down, The absolute BEST baklava I’ve ever had in my life and if you’re a fan of this dessert, you absolutely need to go try it for yourself. I myself, have grown-up eating plenty of baklava. In my hometown, we have one of the highest Middle Eastern populations in the country so we have plenty of great baklava but I’ve still never had it this good. It was Perfect! A large quantity, but not too filling, well-defined layers, very light & flaky but still moist, and just the right amount of nuts. when you bite into it, no part of the dessert gets lost or covered up. You can taste every element standing out with prominent flavor; from the freshness of the walnuts to the sweetness of the syrup and quality of the dough. After talking to the owner for a while, she explained to us how she bakes everything herself and how she refuses to buy her desserts from bakeries or skimp out on quality even if it makes her job easier. Let me tell you, it shows! I highly respect the integrity she brings to her baking and her cafe. She also gave us some cookies that were amazing as well. Now let me tell you a bit about the owners of this establishment. They’re a dedicated hard working family from Montenegro and were some of the nicest people I’ve ever met in my travels. They were VERY kind warmhearted people who opened their business up to us as if it was their home and we were long time friends, stopping by for a visit. It was honestly surreal how comfortable they made us feel. We spoke for over an hour and enjoyed their beautifully designed and well kept Cafe/Bar. Whenever I go to a new location, I really pay close attention to how much the owners care about their business and the customers they serve. It is by far the most important criteria. With these owners, you can tell they really put their all into the business and it is truly a family affair. I loved how the husband and wife were both there working together and even their daughter pitches in. The daughter even drew this amazing Halloween picture on the board by the entrance and you can tell how proud her parents are of her skills. I truly admire the love and attention this family puts into their business, and I can confidently say they’re the American dream in action! Please go pay these guys a visit I promise you won’t be disappointed. I know for us, It will be worth it to make the trip from New Jersey to visit again soon. ”
